It needs about 304,000 valid signatures to qualify for the ballot."Seriously ill patients who are following the advice of their doctor should not face the threat of arrest and jail for simply taking their medicine," coalition spokeswoman Dianne Byrum said in a statement.Under the proposal, seriously ill patients would be able to grow and use a limited amount of marijuana for medical purposes under the recommendation of a doctor. The state would create a registry of patients authorized to use medical marijuana, including an ID system to help law enforcement officials.Twelve states now permit medical marijuana, according to the coalition. http://www.mpp.org/atf/cf/%7BFC4E88DF-6ACE-4AA6-851C-0688A929D3C5%7D/2006_sbs_report.pdf . Now, if everybody in this state who's truly interested in this passing gets off their ass and spends some donated time for Michigan Coalition for Compassionate Care, we can win this one. I volunteered many months ago and hope all within the state will do the same.
Peace to all.

Just getting off their asses and going to the polls would be enough. It's getting them there. And obviously registered.

I agree Steve. The elderly in this state are more open to the idea of medicinal use. I'll give them a ride if they need one and I'll piss and moan about anyone in this state that doesn't give their extra time to volunteer and yet bitch about the outcome. I know many from the THC ministry don't live in Michigan, but you can help. If you can't donate, write to your friends who do live here and tell them to support in any way possible. I know more than a few elderly who will support this but will not use unless legal.
Thanks and peace to all

Although it looks like we should have the numbers to pass this with around sixty percent of the vote in support already, we need every vote we can get. Imagine if everybody in Michigan who is a felon knew that they can still vote in Michigan. You wouldn't believe how many people told me they couldn't vote because they have a felony. Educating the public at large about the medical facts is still the biggest part of the batte. A lot
of people understand compasion. I had cops and other people from law enforcement, military and corrections sign.

One love,
Joshua

Thanks guys!!! I fixed the link to the state by state medical laws book above too. I am glad we are done collecting sigs though. Trying to do that while working another full time job and trying to keep up with all of the legal arguments against these governments wasn't leaving much room for sleep or anything else.

One love,
Joshua

Definitely glad to see you still here Brother David!

One love,
Joshua

PS I'm editing this PS in because I just posted, but I was trying to get that signature update to go all the way back through my posts to date but I aparrently can't even do that by editing updates for old posts in (not sure if there is a way to do that or not).

PPS never mind I figured it out (I just put acheck mark in attach signature).

How convenient only 12% of complaints about the police are substantiated BY the police. Go fuckin figure. Rolling Eyes

Yeah, we had a lot of complaints about us, but the people complain TO US, so only a few of them are actually good complaints!
