FDA Approves Use of Chip in Patients

45 minutes ago Technology - AP

By DIEDTRA HENDERSON

WASHINGTON - The Food and Drug Administration (news - web sites) on Wednesday approved an implantable computer chip that can pass a patient's medical details to doctors, speeding care.

VeriChips, radio frequency microchips the size of a grain of rice, have already been used to identify wayward pets and livestock. And nearly 200 people working in Mexico's attorney general's office have been implanted with chips to access secure areas containing sensitive documents.

Delray Beach, Fla.-based Applied Digital Solutions said it would give away $650 scanners to roughly 200 trauma centers around the nation to help speed its entry into the health care market.

A company spokesman would not say how much implanting chips would cost for humans, even though chips have been implanted in some, including Scott R. Silverman, the company's chief executive officer.

The company is targeting patients with diabetes, chronic cardiac conditions, Alzheimer's disease (news - web sites) and those who undergo complex treatments like chemotherapy, said Dr. Richard Seelig, Applied Digital Solutions' vice president of medical applications.

It's the first time the FDA (news - web sites) has approved medical use of the device, though in Mexico, more than 1,000 scannable chips have been implanted in patients. The chip's serial number pulls up the patients' blood type and other medical information.

With the pinch of a syringe, the microchip is inserted under the skin in a procedure that takes less than 20 minutes and leaves no stitches.

We shouldn't event start thinking about such utter madness. I'm also against doing this to animals and tattooing them, no such thing should be allowed against the will of any living creature for that matter.

Well, since according to scripture it seems we may have the option of the chips either being placed in our hand or forehead, I was thinking forehead would be the way to go, after of coarse having been beheaded for refusing to submit to the program. I was thinking, that way, when I go through the checkout instead of them having to mess with the handheld scanner I could just roll my head across the countertop scanner. Razz

One of the things we can do is to use cash for most purchases.
Credit and debit cards' purchases are often tracked and data is taken about your personal buying habits. From that info lifestyle data about you is gathered that gives companies (like Amazon) choices about what to offer you through the mail, internet and also TV...

One step away from Big Brother...

Many people overlook what this might become when they initialy read about it. Sure at first it looks like it has some "usefull & Helpfull" applications to help us in out everyday lives...

But imagine... Eventualy you will be scanned everywhere you go. Every move you make, every $$ you spend, Every person you visit with or simply converse with on the streets... Will be known. You will be tracked from the time you leave your home untill the time you return.

To me thats scary. It must be fought. They dont take away your freedoms all at once and in a way you can recognize and defend against...
No, they do it slwoly and in ways where you give them up willingly because you believe its for your own good. Yep... thats how it begins...

Peace Shocked

Holy Toledo!!! People. Last time we were at Wal-marts (although I guess it's nothing new) on the way out I noticed they checked a couple of girls bags at the door as they were leaving, apparently the alarm went off. I guess I'd been seeing those things sort of like scanners at the airport in front of the doors but hadn't paid much attention until then.

Also quite some years ago I noticed, although I think it may have been the door opener that emits some kind of ultrasonic sound or something but out of the range of human hearing, but I certainly could feel it like a knife or a hammer hitting me in the head.

Really strange how easy it is to become numb and almost totally unaware of all the changes taking place around us until one day, whammy!!! It hits you like a ton of bricks.

Talk about hypnosis, It seems to me the whole world is under mass hypnosis of some kind.

The metal detector machines to detect stolen goods do emit a very high pitched frequency. I don't notice normally but recently I've been listening to music as I walk across campus, I've walked through: the library, the k-mart, and a blockbuster. All the frequencies of the detecters were picked up by my headphones and (since the volume is so high) it was a shock to my system with such a high pitch.

Yes...it's very much a form of hypnosis. They don't want you watchin' that TeeVee for nothin'...

And Rev Chaz has pointed out...they do it bits at a time and for our "own good" ...

This latest "reason" is for "people with chronic medical conditions."

I saw the same thing last year "to help find missing children."

They're trying to soften us up for the idea. It's the old Frog In The Pot Of Water trick. Slowly turn up the heat, and the frog doesn't know anythings amiss, 'till it's too late.

Same thing with our freedoms. They can't take them away all at once. That would lead to open rebellion. They don't even really appear to take them away. They "make exceptions" and amend this and amend that...

They warn of us a threat. Used to be 'communism'... now it's the War on Drugs, which is being blurred into and mixed with the War on Terror.

Then they offer us a solution to the percieved threat. This always involves, somehow, a chipping away at our freedoms.

Funny how that works, eh?

None-the-less...

Follow Your Bliss,
Ben Power

For a number of years now manufacturers have been putting V-chips in the TV and cable box systems....initially we heard that they (of course) were there for 'our own good'...that they would screen out porn and such trash from our kids' virgin eyes and ears as tho we didn't know how to change the channel.

We found out (of course, why wouldn't we) that the chips can be used to eavesdrop on private activities in the home any time the feds want to....right through the ole TV screen! Shocked

Addendum to my above note:

Never give up hope. Never give up, period. The stuff going inside our hearts and between our ears directly affects our experience of reality. Everything is energy and everything is connected.

Once they've (the ubiquitous, ominous THEY ...whoever they are) got us in a doom-and-gloom-oh-my-god-it's-too-late mindset, then they've already won.

There are a lot of people, both within and without the cannabis community/family who are concerned about what's going on.

Never feel isolated, never feel alone. We have each other, and we've got love and truth on our side.

We can't let doom and gloom overwhelm us. That's what they want.

Fear is the enemy.

Follow your Bliss,
Ben

Well, after all is said and done I still think I'm my own worst enemy and yet the Hebrew/Christian Bible still upsets me very much on certain issues such as the one this thread is named for. I mean if all that stuff is true how can anyone make it to Heaven and why does anyone want to anyway?

I mean the concept a lot of Christians have that someone or something they supposedly dearly love will be spending all eternity in place of torment that defies all description while they themselves get to spend eternity in so-called Heaven doesn't make much sense to me.

What really makes me sick is that these same people feel that in spite of everything they must by all means and without question continue to worship such a God. And some of these "Loved Ones" who are going to be spending eternity in Hell are supposedly good, moral, caring and loving people who's only sin seems to be that they failed to accept Jesus as their savior before they died.

Well shucky-darn, too late now I guess. It seems as though (according to what these people believe and which doesn't make sense to me either) God Himself cannot even help them now. Yeh, He's suppose to be Almighty, The God of both the dead and the living, has the Keys of Hell, but now He can't help-um because they failed to say the magic words or whatever it was they was suppose to do before they died.

I think many of these same people if they ever do make it to Heaven will probably decide they wish they, themselves, could go to Hell before it's over.

I certainly don't believe that. It makes no sense to me either!

I know what the 'people written' Bible says, but the God I believe in could never do that to His own creation.

The God of infinite love, compassion and patience doesn't have the capacity to kill His creation. It is against His nature...He gives us infinite chances to change...He commanded us to forgive eachother 490 times (70 times 7). That's a lot of times!

I suppose you could argue that He can do anything He wants with His creation and you'd be right but that's not the God of love that I know.

I realize the Bible is enigmatic and difficult to discern but there are some things I'm pretty sure of and one of them is to not take it too literally......

Give me the Son of God in the picture Mystic posted last week....the laughing one...that's the partner in this world I want to know!
