NORML is pleased to announce the introduction of H.R. 3037, the Industrial
Hemp Farming Act of 2005, sponsored by Reps. Sam Farr (D-CA), Raul
Grijalva (D-AZ), Jim McDermott (D-WA), George Miller (D-CA) and Ron Paul
(R-TX). This legislation is the first bill ever to be introduced in
Congress to repeal the federal ban on the cultivation of industrial hemp
as a commercial crop.

If passed, H.R. 3037 would allow states the legal authority to license and
regulate hemp cultivation without conflicting with federal law. To date,
several states have passed legislation authorizing the cultivation of
industrial hemp for research and commercial purposes. However, farmers in
these states can not legally grow hemp without federal permission to do
so. House Bill 3037 would remove this federal hurdle by granting states
"exclusive authority" to regulate the growing and processing of industrial
hemp.

Currently, the United States is the only developed nation that fails to
cultivate industrial hemp as an economic crop, according to a 2005
Congressional Resource Service (CRS) report. Hemp is a distinct variety
of the plant species cannabis sativa that contains only minute (less than
1%) amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the primary psychoactive
ingredient in marijuana. Farmers worldwide grow hemp commercially for
fiber, seed, and oil for use in a variety of industrial and consumer
products, including food.

Please take time today to write your Representative and ask them to
co-sponsor and support H.R. 3037, the Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2005.

great news for the great American people !!!

this is going to be of massive benefit to the farmers.anyone got the e-mail of g.w.von blucher. er ... sorry bush i mean.or maybe some way of mass mailing the entire senate ;->>

i think , once they all see the benefits they wont be able to turn back.a world - wide industrial hemp business is steadily growing and with the abilities and skill of your farming community this could be like an injection of rocket fuel for the whole industry across the globe. !!!

i love it.!!!

brave new world.

peace

It could save the "Family Farm" -- what's left, anyway.

yeah i know what you mean bro.

i watched i film a while back about how the banks where calling in their loans on those people and throwing them off their land.

some of those people had been farming the same piece of land for generations , but as soon as the banks hit a depression they started robbing the family farmers to balance their books.

its that whole thing about how the rise of industrial kingpins was at the cost of the small - scale and family farmer.it turned my stomach over to see those good people wiped out by the stroke of an accountants pen.sick.

someone should tell them , you cant eat plastic or oil ar cars.you would think the people who put food on our table should get the respect they are due.,

it aint right .

oeace brother

RESPECT TO YA.
