Hypocracy is the start of evil, oppresion & dehumanisation.

How many of us can be CERTAIN that we would not act the same if 'put in charge'?

Many times in my sporting career especially I saw people promoted above their abilities who fought long & dirty to hold on to what they'd gained.

Think it's part of the 'animal' side of us, the part we have to rise above (evolve from) in order to take the next steps toward our destiny.

You talk like a juvenile!

The 'question' was rhetorical:-

There's a famous quote that says

"Power tends to corrupt. Absolute power corrupts absolutely"

So for you to say 'I can' is just childish dreaming. You can hope to, work to be more 'moral', but niether you nor anyone else can be certain of HOW MUCH you would be corrupted by 'power'.

But in my observations it is the blindly naive that fall further and faster than most.

And you have no right to first call me juvenile.. that in itself is very juvenile.
And second you have no way to say you know for sure how I would act in any situation. I would give my life before allowing power to corrupt me. Even as small a power as .. say... being a forum admin.
If you judge me based on how you believe you would act.. well thats wrong. But please dont presume to speak for me, or judge me. Because you are wrong.

Peace and goodbye

Quote:
I'm living in peace decease all evil,
Honesty's the policy it never be equal,
Sinful people fall down first,
Disperse my actions they speak louder than my words,
Observe, learn, it always comes back,
Like a mouse in a maze you're caught up in a trap,
Feeling the vibes that you can't escape,
Intake injection poisonous perfection,
Calm down, concentrate, I can't relate,
Loves great when you only got time to tell fate,
A place to lay, some tape to break, some goods to bake, some babies to make,
Don't take it for granted, you got one life to live,
I know you didn't plan it, so you're forgived,
We were put on this earth to show what God is to the youth,
Test the planet and speak the truth,

GeeCee, I suggest you take a doobie and chill a little bro, And Chaz is right, I have seen many people with power who didn't get corrupted at all. It's in the character of a person.

Anyone remember Pierre Trudeau? Canada's Prime Minister from 1968 to 1979. He was considered the purest politician in Canadian politics. He also did the most for Canada in the long run, not to mention he got Canada its independance from the British Empire.
I think hes a good example of a Politician for the people, there was probably SOME corruption, but it didnt get as much attention as the good things he was doing at the time!

I'm a total cynic, but the way I see it's like this : Anyone that becomes a politician for a major political party (IE one likely to be in power at some point during that persons career) is immediately rendered unworthy for power since, although it may at the time not be the main motive, the person abviously has a desire for power and I do believe power corrupts, especially those that seek it. I also do not believe any political party can truly reflect a persons true beliefs, so at some point along the way all politicians must shed some of their ideals. My father used to call it pragmatism, I still see it as selling out - if you don't have the courage of your convictions you don't deserve my vote, and selling out is not something one should seek in a leader. I think, ultimately, no politician is worthy of power for the simple reason that they chose politics as a career. I dream of the day when politics is not all about power & personality, election & confrontation. The place of government should be a round room where the state of the nation can be discussed, not an ancient room with rows of mouldering benches locked in eternal argument, divided by a gold mace. The current system of election leads us nowhere, one party gets in & lays the foundations of what is sees as 'the way forward', only to be beaten in the next election, and now the other lot demolishes the first lot's foundations to lay it's own 3 feet to the left, & so-on ad nauseum, meanwhile nothing really changes - a few folks may lose a few more rights, the odd war or two, but the world's still ostensibly the same place - suffering everywhere, the only detail that changes is the geographical location. Madness. Utter madness. I mean, c'mon, I got a chronic mental illness & even I can see it's lunacy, for fux sake!

And they wonder why so many folks smoke herb...
