Beef Madras

Desiccated Coconut can also be used in this famous South Indian dish, but make it once with fresh coconuts to see how good it tastes! I am using Cannabutter, but if you wish to use budleaves or buds, use about 2-4 grams of buds chucked along with the spices and coconut in a blender/processor Wink

You need:

1 cup grated fresh coconuts
400g Tinned canned tomatoes
2 tablespoons of grated fresh ginger
2 teaspoons of black mustard seeds
1 tablespoon of tamarind concentrate
3-4 Tablespoons of CANNABUTTER
1-2 Tablespoons of olive or vegetable oil
2 large onions sliced (about 400 grams)
6-8 gloves of garlic crushed
1 tablespoon of ground cumin
1 teaspoon of ground turmeric
2 teaspoons of ground coriander
2-3 teaspoons of hot chilli powder
2 teaspoons of sweet paprika
10 curry leaves
1 kg diced chuck beef steak
1/2 cup of water

OK.... this receipe may sound you need a lot... but trust me the flavours is worth the effort, and the spices are very cheap from your local Indian Foods Store Wink

1. Blend or process the coconut, undrained tomatoes, ginger, mustard seeds and tamarind until pureed. (notice: If you are using budleaves or buds instead of CannaButter, add the weed along into the mix to process it well Wink )

2. Heat Oil in large pan, cook onions and garlic, stirring, until lightly browned.

3. Add the spices, cook stirring until nicely "fragrant". Very Happy

4. Add the curry leaves, beef, water, CANNABUTTER and the processed coconut mixture, bring to boil, then quickly simmer for 1.5 hours, its important to stir occasionally or until the beef is tender. Very Happy

5. Serve with some Naan bread, rice and whatever you usually have with Indian dish!

Serves 6

This can be stored in freezer for later use, as I noticed this tasted a lot nicer if cooked then rested overnight in fridge and heat up in the microwave the next day, as this can be prepared in few days in advance or in freezer for up to 3 months. Can be stored in fridge for 2-3 days covered.

Goodluck!
